FanDuel Announces New NBA Themed Show “Run it Back”

Latest News

FanDuel has announced a new television program they’ve added to their FanDuel+ and FanDuelTV network. The new show, titled Run It Back, debuted on October 17th, 2022, and features NBA insights and breaking news. The new NBA-centered show will be hosted by former NBA star Chandler Parsons and former ESPN reporter Michelle Beadle. Shams Charania, NBA lead writer for The Athletic and Stadium, will frequently join Parsons and Beadle on the show.

What is FanDuel TV?

FanDuel purchased the horse racing network TVG earlier this year. The acquisition resulted in FanDuelTV, FanDuel Racing, and FanDuel+ taking the place of TVG Network, TVG2, and WatchTVG. The new networks are the first linear/digital networks in the United States dedicated to delivering sports wagering content. The new television network hopes to deliver more live sports programming than any other television network currently available. FanDuel+ is the brand’s OTT platform. OTT refers to over-the-top, a direct-to-customer media service offered over the internet for customers without cable. FanDuel+ is available to download for free via AppleTV, Roku, and Amazon devices. FanDuelTV is the brand’s traditional cable network, available on Spectrum, Xfinity, DirectTV, Fios, and Dish.

FanDuelTV and FanDuel+ launched on September 6th, 2022, with its first show, “Up and Adams,” hosted by former NFL Network “Good Morning Football” host Kay Adams. The show features NFL breaking news and fantasy sports breakdowns every Monday-Friday at 11 am EST.

During the announcement, Mike Raffensperger, FanDuel’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented on the network release, stating, “FanDuel TV is the first network designed from the ground up to be watched by viewers with their phone in hand … We intend for FanDuel TV to sit at the intersection of live sports and interactive content and believe Kay is the best example of an on-air talent who can bring fans closer to the narratives of the games they care about most. Our goal is to provide fans compelling programming to watch and wager on in tandem with our mobile app,” said Raffensperger.

New NBA Show, “Run it Back”

Run it Back will air Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 10:00 am ET, just before Up and Adams. The new NBA-focused show will feature the day’s biggest NBA games, storylines, and enticing wagers, available on the FanDuel app. Beadle and Parsons will be doing the majority of the reporting, with Charania offering daily news insights. Charania will also feature FanDuel Sportsbook odds during his reporting and through his social media accounts. According to the agreement, this is the first partnership between an actual NBA leading reporter and a sportsbook network. As part of the agreement, Charania is prohibited from signing up for a FanDuel DFS or sportsbook account.

The show will be produced by NBA content creator Eddie Gonzalez. Gonzalez will also provide on-air commentary throughout the show.

“FanDuel TV was designed for viewers to watch and wager and Run it Back will bring a 360° view of the NBA, including wagering trends to our audience,” said Raffensperger. “Every NBA season offers its own unique intrigue and as the narrative of each season unfolds, Run it Back will be there every step of the way.”

Other FanDuel TV News

While FanDuel TV is still pretty young, the brand is looking for ways to bring as much content to viewers as possible. Recently the network announced a new partnership with Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL). The licensing agreement allows FanDuel TV to televise two to three NBL games weekly. Most games will take place on Friday and Saturday nights.

According to FanDuel’s website, the brand intends to become the new home of international basketball streaming. FanDuel also has partnerships to offer the Chinese Basketball League, French Basketball League, and German pro leagues.
