Who is White Hat Studios?
White Hat Studios first came to the US market in July this year by partnering with BetMGM in Pennsylvania. The partnership saw many White Hat Studios titles launch on the platform in the first couple of weeks. Golden Nugget Online Casino became the second casino brand to offer White Hat titles.
White Hat Studios has been an official division of White Hat Gaming for over a year and currently operates across five global offices with locations in London, Cape Town, Gibraltar, Malta, and the US. The company specializes in creating award-winning online casino games. Having faced widespread success across the European online gambling market, the brand is now focusing on the growing US iGaming market.
Who is Light & Wonder?
Light & Wonder is a leading cross-platform game company that operates across the globe. The brand was known as Scientific Games until it undertook a new brand identity in March 2022. The Vegas-based company sold its lottery division and sports betting platform to help the company rebrand and focus its efforts on online casino gaming and retail products.
Steps Leading To Recent White Hat Studios Partnership
Before launching in the US, White Hat Studios partnered with Merkur and Reel Time Gaming to strengthen its iGaming platform. Merkur and Reel Time are online casino gaming developers who have created many popular titles in the online casino space.
Light & Wonder has also been developing its iGaming offerings over the past year. The company bought the rights to a catalog of games from Blueprint Gaming, one of Europe’s largest slot game providers.
Many of these titles are now a part of Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming™ platform.
Partnership Director at Light & Wonder, Steve Mayes, commented on the partnership with White Hat Studios, stating, “The content has long been among the top-performing in a wide range of regulated markets in Europe and North America and there’s no doubt it’s also set to prove hugely popular with players in the regulated US market.” Mayes continued, “The deal we signed with White Hat Studios to bring these titles onto the OpenGaming™ platform in the US was huge for us as we seek to enhance our already strong position in a region that is set to blossom. The portfolio we have access to is incredible, and it’s a great moment for us to be able to take this first step in a larger roll-out by putting it before players in Pennsylvania.”
The new partnership between the two brands will see many White Hat Studio games on the Light & Wonder OpenGaming™ platform. Casinos that partner with Light & Wonder will have access to these titles. The company has made it clear it has plans to bring White Hat Studio games across all regulated states within the next 12 months.
CEO of White Hat Studios, Andy Whitworth, also commented on the partnership, stating, “It was always clear to us, going right back to the birth of White Hat Studios, that the right choice of aggregation platform partner was going to be crucial for speed to market in the US We are proud to put our content in front of Pennsylvania’s players and look forward to going live in Pennsylvania and New Jersey shortly.” Whitworth continued, “OpenGaming™ has an unrivaled distribution network and scalability, which will prove vital assets as we continue to roll out from state to state in the coming months. The Pennsylvania launch represents the latest significant step on this exciting journey.”
